watch when you fucking drive
one of my friends from high school was killed while biking home from work monday night. someone opened their car door without looking, clipped him off his bike into traffic, and the rest is history. take a god damn second to look when you're in a car, it's not that fucking difficult nor time consuming.

I will always check from now on.. I only ever get off on passenger side or to sidewalks, never in middle of a road (me not a driver) but will always check now..

No one down here seems to have the time to LOOK when it comes to driving either. Talking on cell phones while driving also drives me crazy; I almost lost my mom and brothers because of some jackass on his cell.

I'm sorry to hear about your friend.

I am sorry to hear this.

Where he was killed is not too far away from where I usually ride my route. Lincoln, Lasalle, Clark and Wells are definitely not the safest place to bike in Chicago. If it's not people opening their doors and not looking, it's people who double park in the bike lanes.
